Project: RFNG

Ok, this is the first post of the Project, hopefully it will still be able to continue.

Project Description:
Modify the Nerf Stampede to fire much faster and much farther without sacrificing the gun itself. To do this, we are going to make custom internals out of aluminum, put in an airsoft motor/electronics/gearbox to maximize speed and torque without burning out the stock motor, and add a more powerful spring. We also considered making a longer plunger to get further distance but this requires us to cut out of the shell, something we wanted to preserve.

Project Goals:
1. Acquire nerf gun internals
2. Dimension internals and start prototyping
3. Put in custom motor and electronics as well as gearbox

5. Testing phase/adjustments
6. Add ammo counter
7. Testing and Documenting
8. Marketing to ebay, social networking etc to up sales

I originally got the idea from some enthusiastic friends who were dissapointed with the current performance of nerf guns. Although it is to be noted these are toys (hence the reason we are not modifying the darts!!!!!!!)
